Ohio CEOs Convene at Cardinal Health to Discuss Mental Health with Governor

Updated: Sep 14, 2023

Seeing as May was Mental Health Awareness Month, OBRT was pleased to convene a roundtable at Cardinal Health with several of our CEO members, Governor DeWine, and Directors Lori Criss and Judi French from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Department of Insurance respectively.

Cardinal Health CEO Jason Hollar and his team hosted the discussion and shared what the organization is doing to help support its workforce to prioritize mental health. Tim Robinson, CEO of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Bob Schottenstein, Chairman, CEO and President of M/I Homes, also co-hosted this important event.

Those present spoke in depth about the need to support Ohioans struggling with mental health issues, and several shared deeply personal stories about how their own families, friends, and colleagues have been impacted by mental health issues. The discussion also touched on the role of employers in ensuring benefits are available to benefit their employees’ mental well-being.

Our member, Jason Hollar, wrote an OP-ED for the Columbus Dispatch, you can check out the article down below!

We appreciate the participation of the OBRT members who were able to join us, and look forward to extending this dialogue to our larger membership as we pursue opportunities to lean in on mental health treatment.
