As Head of Downstream, Eric manages the company’s downstream operations, including Cenovus’s U.S. refineries and refining joint ventures, its Canadian upgrading and refining complex, and the company’s asphalt terminals, ethanol plants and Bruderheim rail terminal. Eric also oversees optimization of the company's integrated value chain to maximize downstream profitability through commodity trading, sales and supply logistics, downstream marketing and sales of refined products and asphalt.


Eric has been involved in the oil and gas and refining industries for more than 20 years, holding increasingly senior roles in refinery operations, commercial management and technical leadership. Prior to joining Cenovus in 2024, Eric spent 22 years with bp in various operational roles, including Vice-President, Refining – Cherry Point Refinery in Blaine, Washington. Before Cherry Point, Eric spent four years working at the Toledo Refinery as Operations Manager and Commercial Manager. 


He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
